A healthy menstrual cycle

During the luteal phase there are no chances of conception: The egg is no longer fertile and digested by the body. Also, sperm cannot enter the uterus anymore.

Menstruation marks the beginning of a new cycle and gives a hint that the body is preparing for the next ovulation.

Only one ovulation is happening each cycle. The egg is fertile for less than 24 hours after ovulation.

During the follicular phase, sperm find perfect conditions in the vagina and uterus for survival about 3-5 days.
